According to the research project of Shandong University of Technology in new energy vehicle project: the development electric power steering system,this paper analyses and researches the existing measurement of steering wheel sensor at home and abroad. The topic proposes a method of measurement based on laser Doppler effect for measuring the steering wheel parameters. Realizing the non-contact measurement, improving the anti-interference ability of the system by the differential optical path. The design of the acousto-optic modulator, improving the signal-to-noise ratio of the sensor. The establishment of the mathematical model and introduction of temperature coefficient increase the measurement accurancy of the system. Speed is slow, weak anti-interference ability, the shortcomings of low accuracy in response to current sensor are solved.Firstly, the testing principle and internal structure of EPS torque, angle sensor is analyzed, to understand the present situation and development trend of the domestic and foreign EPS sensor; Proposes a method of measurement based on laser Doppler effect for measuring the steering wheel parameters, and the corresponding mathematical model is established. The hardware of intelligent senor is designed. It consists of laser light source, optical path design, selection of the elastic torsion bar structure design, signal detection circuit design, peripheral control circuit design. The design of control program and data processing algorithms of intelligent sensor is described. The sources of uncertainty were analyzed and the design of intelligent sensor measurement, performance test. The test shows that the structure of intelligent sensor angle measurement precision is 0.308%, measurement of torque precision is 0.216%; performance and lack of sensor of intelligent steering senor is analyzed, and the improvement scheme is proposed.
