Research To Quantify The Reliability Of Port Collecting And Distributing Road

Along with the increase in the ship size and the throughput of ports, increasing attention are paid to the collecting and distributing road of ports. Reliability of the road takes great significance in assessing the value of service and also providing a new theory for the planning of port collecting-distributing system.However, so far, no research has been conducted to quantify the reliability of a collecting-distributing road. This article explains the concepts and relations of the four reliabilities, namely, connectivity reliability, mobility reliability, travel time reliability and capacity reliability. Considering the unique characteristics of port distributing-collecting road, this article introduces some formula to quantify these concepts, based on relevant taken on city roads. Besides, two reliability, connectivity reliability and mobility reliability are highlighted.At the end, with the information (including traffic network flow and saturation level, etc.) attained from the assignment of the collecting-distributing of the fourth project of Dayaowan Port in TransCAD, the reliability of the road is calculated. Through case calculation and analysis,the validity and feasibility of Quantify the Reliability of Port Collecting and Distributing Road system established in this research are verified.
