Study On The Inheritance Of The Ecological Strategy In Beijing Suburb Mountain Type Traditional Villages

The village, same as building, comes into being with human security requirements of daily life. Its purpose is to provide a ‘shelter’ for human beings to avoid natural disasters and beast attack. But along with the development of society and technology, people have increasingly high demands for living conditions. People gradually shift the focus to improve building performance by new technology, even at price of destroying the original ecological balance. Therefore, we are faced with increasingly serious problems about energy and ecology. In recent years, more and more people have noticed the seriousness of this problem and took measures to change this current situation. With the in-depth study of traditional villages, the ecological idea and method are more and more recognized by academic circles. Learning from traditional experience is certainly the most appropriate method to improve the ecological performance of the building, especially for traditional villages.Beijing suburb mountain type traditional villages formed its own characteristics that including the typical characteristics of mountain villages and the huge difference with the South mountain villages because of its particularity geographical environment. Process of their formation and development carries the philosophy of ‘Harmony between the Heaven and Human’, reflect the harmonious native ecological view between the human beings and the nature. These ecological concepts still have reference significance for the construction of current villages. It is necessary for us to systematically summarize the ecological strategy from Beijing suburb mountain type traditional villages, and apply it into the construction of modern towns and villages.At first, through reading ecology-related theory books and literatures, this paper summarizes tow aspects contents that including ecological thoughts of ‘Harmony between the Heaven and Human’, and ancient Chinese concept of Feng shui. Then, expounds the village construction methods of ecological and its widespread use in Chinese traditional villages. And take them as the theory and practice basis of the specific ecological strategy research. Then, I research the Beijing suburb mountain type traditional villages in an order of “village locationstreet space- buildings” after a large number of field survey and relevant literature arrangement, and analyze the ecological strategies they used from three aspects: the terrain adaptability, physical environment construction and building materials. Based on the above research, combining the actual development and the status quo of modern Beijing suburb mountain villages, I’m able to sum up the specific inheritance ways of traditional ecological strategies by taking Beijing Miyun Gubei water town as an example. This inheritance ways include continuation of appropriate traditional practices, correction of inappropriate ways, and specific practices of general strategies and so on. I hope my paper play the role of inspiration and guidance to the planning and construction of the similar mountain villages in the future.
