The process that high pressure natural gas is pumped into user has great potential pressure energy which is not developed yet. The paper aims at analyzing the technical proposal of using the pressure energy contained in the pipeline. The research achievement will be the technical and theoretical support of Beijing Gas Group.Based on the data of pipeline, exergy analysis method is used to calculate total pressure energy of regulator station, actual pressure energy and available pressure energy. Under design conditions, total pressure energy is 1,600,000,000 k Wh. Under actual conditions, Instantaneous pressure energy can be as high as 1,229,000,000 k Wh, which means available pressure energy is 185,000,000 k Wh.The paper analyzes the way of utilizing pressure energy and its current problems. On the basis of research status, the feasibility and necessity of utilizing the pressure energy is researched. Two electricity-generation schemes, large-scale one and small-scale one, are analyzed. After analysis, testing programs, basic process and equipment, debug solutions are all introduced, as well as benefit analysis. A first 5k W electricity-generation program is taken.Pressure energy of pipelines has great potential. Taking this technology will not only increase benefit of the firm but also have great social benefit.
