Research On The Development Of Towns In Shannan Prefecture Of Tibet

Shannan prefecture is the birthplace for the development of towns in Tibet. It has rich natural and cultural resources, but at the same time, the fragile ecological environment and the topographic features limit the development of towns. In this thesis, the predominant influencing factors are summarized by tracing the changes and various characteristics of the local towns during different periods in the long course of development. Finally, through analyzing the existing spatial organization of towns in the prefecture, the suggestions on the optimization of the dynamical mechanisms and the development patterns, the developing strategies of Shannan prefecture are proposed.This thesis is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1, introduction. This chapter mainly expounds on the origin of the research, introduces the significance of it, defines the research object, and describes the research contents, methods and technique routes.Chapter 2, general review on relevant researches. Through reading and analyzing the relevant researches both at home and abroad, this chapter expounds on the results of the latest researches about the dynamical mechanisms and patterns of towns developments in ecological fragile areas. Then the chapter introduces the research emphasis.Chapter 3, the analysis of historical and present situations in towns of Shannan prefecture. This chapter clarifies the cultural background of towns in Shannan prefecture through disentangling the elocutionary history of the towns in Shannan prefecture. Then, the chapter sums up the predominant influencing factors, as well as the current spatial organization of local towns, the dynamical mechanisms behind the development of such towns, and various patterns of them.Chapter 4, the proposals for the development of towns in Shannan prefecture. Firstly this chapter provides some strategies of spatial organization, gives some suggestions on the the optimization of dynamical mechanisms, has advices of main developing aspects in the introduction of each pattern which the local towns may choose. Then, the chapter shows the recommendations about the development patterns and industrial development directions to each town for choosing.Chapter 5, conclusion. In this chapter, the main conclusions are summarized.
