The Automatically Generated Urban Rail Transit Train Diagram

In recent years, the construction of the urban rail transit has grown rapidly to alleviate travel pressure from the great changes of cities. Therefore the urban rail transit has been even more vital in people’s daily life, and the train diagram plays an important role in organizations to ensure efficient operation of urban rail transit system. So a train diagram authoring software which can satisfy the normal operation mode and the express/slow trains operation mode is particularly significant.The paper respectively designed and implemented the drawing of train diagram in the normal operation mode and the express/slow trains operation mode.Diagram automatic generation in normal operating mode, which consists of six modules:Data Entry、Diagram Drawing、Virtual Connect Line Translation、In/Out of storage and Connection with peak hours and off-peak periods, has been designed and implemented. Among the rest, the basic data includes track data(The station name. Station dwell time...)、Traction calculation results(Station spacing、Interval running time...)、The locomotive routing selection and All traffic plan. Eventually, automatically draw the train diagram of the normal operating mode based on the actual data of No.3 line of Chengdu Metro.Diagram automatic generation in express/slow trains operation mode, which consists of seven modules:Data Entry、Express/Slow Trains Combination、Diagram Drawing、 Virtual Connect、Line Translation、In/Out of storage and Connection with peak hours and off-peak periods, has been designed and implemented. Among the rest, the basic data not only includes the normal operating mode’s data, but also needs station dwell time of the part interval fast trains and express trains、the setting position of overtaking station、the setting stopping point of the part interval fast trains and express trains and their interval running time. Eventually, automatically draw the train diagram of the Express/Slow Trains operation mode based on the actual data of No.18 line of Chengdu Metro.The paper firstly analyzed the research significance of the issue, research status at home and abroad and research target, and then it had an introduction about the elements of train graphs and the principles and methods of formation. In addition, the paper analyzed various restraining conditions in the process of drawing diagram, and designed each module of the two operation modes. Finally, proved the availability of the diagram editor by two examples.
