A Design Research About Walking-Aids Products For The Old

In recent years, with the intensified global aging, rapid aging and the primary stage of socialism’s basic national condition have existed together in our Country The situation of "Old before rich" urgently needs to improve the lack of products for the old. The design of products for the old has become a focus on the field. According to those reality I make this design. Beginning with the characteristics of the old from their Physiology. Mentality and the social aspects to make specific design and research for the products of the old. I made some summarizes and analysis for elderly products and walk-helping products, combining with their principle, such as, safety, ease to use and comfortable. According to the elder’s demands and their physical situation to improve the appearance of walk-helping products and to give feedback through their experience in the first time. In order to make the walk-helping products more suitable for the old, I have consider many aspects such as target user, function of the products, the design of appearance, color and material. Make sure the basic task can combine with the experience of APP.The design method of researching the production which is suited for the elderly is based on the integration of design theory, design strategy and practice. The theory knowledge involves product design for the aged, ergonomics and design psychology, design investigation method, the design theory and so on. The analysis and research is on the basis of existing products and the status quo, guide to the specific design practice and proceed to improve design. Suitable design is not only satisfied from the easy to use and practical applicability of man-machine aspects, but also from an emotional concern and care for the elderly. It is the embodiment of the diversity and the multi-dimensional property, and is able to extend to targeted design demands of different groups. Hope this design can content the needs of elderly walking. Meanwhile, it could have a certain guiding significance of designing the products to help the elderly walk.
