Research On Design Of Cognitive Situations In Medical Public Space

With the rapid social development and the great improvements in the living standards, people have paid more and more attention to physical and psychological health, and the demands for hospitals have also been growing. As hospitals have expanded rapidly, their interior space designs, deserving more particular care, should provide more convenience for the patients. And the situational designs should be reasonably offered from the viewpoint of the patients to release their nervousness and anxiety in the hospital and locate the exact department which they want to visit as quickly as possible.First, by literature review, this dissertation summarizes the researches on situational designs of medical public spaces at home and abroad, and then defines the conceptions of situational design and is applications to various fields. Second, the dissertation explains the cognitive situations of modern medical public space and their key elements, and further presents situational design principles of modern medical public space. Third, taking the Centre Hospital of Zhuzhou City as an example, by questionnaires and investigations, the situational design of the hospital is analyzed. By means of descriptive analysis and correlation analysis of the questionnaire results,problems are pointed out as for environmental design, guiding nurse setting and navigation system design, and we find that the three elements are significantly correlated. Accordingly, a new design plan is presented for improvement.
