With income rising, people’s material conditions, culture and living standards are improving, people’s living environment of their own also have a higher level of requirements. For residents,the residential areas is no longer satisfied with their simple requirement of living. They began to pay more attention to the spiritual requirement, and hope the living environment contains more regional cultural. Hebei Province is vast, the natural environment, social environment, and cultural environment is different in different cities. All of these formed the difference of geographical characteristics.(1) Through the analysis of the early stage of the data this paper e have a preliminary understanding of the regional landscape, clarify the research target of this paper, the research content and research.(2) In this paper hebei province is divided into the north, the east, the middle, the south four parts. Through data collection and field investigation, from natural and humanistic two aspects analyzes and summarizes the regional characteristics of hebei region, including topography, climate, vegetation, history, culture, architecture, folk art and so on.(3) Summed up the current hebei area residential area landscape in regional problems.(4) Through exploratory study, the paper want to draw a conclusion that how can we only protect the urban texture of the original space, but also regional elements can be integrated into the residential landscape design. In this way can we convey regional characteristics according to the residential landscape and make the residential landscape more cognitive.In conclusion, the paper put forward the corresponding design strategies through theoretical analysis and summary methods, case studies and combined with the development trend of modern residential landscape. The paper put forward the compatible expression with the overall planning, architectural forms, landscape, sketches and other elements by thinking of the aspects of nature, culture, ecology and society to comprehensive design. In this way we can build a residential landscape with regional characteristics.
