The new era brought by the development of social economy and technologies would form a new value system and new culture. Therefore, new media technologies would produce new perception, new thinking patterns and new value orientations, and affect our social intercourse spaces: the main living place--interior space. In the media age, people and the interior designers’ aesthetic taste, narrative ways, ways of expression, functional needs of life and desired ends of spirit are constantly changing. The new values, technical guidance and design concepts always require and stimulate the interior design exploring and studying all kinds of knowledge to improve themselves so as to adapt to the trend. This is a direction how multimedia technology shapes the interior design.Multimedia technology, the fastest and most active technology in the field of information technology, is the focus of the new electronic technology development and competition. As an important part of life, the interior space is inevitably engaged with the media technology. The research on multimedia technology has been an old topic in academic circles; the interior design is a people-oriented science studying and creating the indoor environment to meet people’s physiological and psychological requirements. How to carry on the research of multimedia technology, to summarize and then apply to interior design, to integrate multimedia technology and the interior space, to realize the seamless connection between technology and art disciplines have become new topics worthy of study for design workers.This paper mainly studies the relationship between the interior space form and multimedia technology, a new technology bringing new aesthetic standards and expression ways into interior space, in the digital era. The paper tries to explore how the "multimedia" intervene and rich interior space, to analyze the development and transformation of interior design concept in the era of multimedia, different content and forms reflected by design works, to find the multiple values of multimedia in the interior design, so as to form more humanized, personalized and mediatized interior space.
