With the rapid development of digital technology, new media and new media art have provided new development space for contemporary art and design in the21st Century. They have not only changed the traditional art creation and expression, but also created a new aesthetic experience. The emergence of new media art has broken through the limitation of traditional information media, meanwhile, it has initiated a new pattern of communication and interaction which enriches people’s visual experience and affects the way of living. Innovative use of new technology and new artistic thinking enable new media art to have the new artistic features and aesthetic laws. With their rapid development, new media and new media art have gradually infiltrated into every aspect of people’s daily life like other new technology and art. At the same time, their influence on the commercial space design is the most outstanding one.This article starts from the two concepts "new media" and "new media art", then analyzes the artistic features and aesthetic rules of the new media art which makes investigate the applications of new media art in the spatial design be possible. The author agrees with that these applications and practices are kinds of enrichment and development of the new media art. Accordingly, the paper makes discussion on problems and design principle of the modern commercial space design, and points out that the new media art can satisfies the demands of commercial space design because of its magical art characteristics, such as virtuality, interactivity, diversity and richness. Finally, the author attempt to apply the new media art to commercial space design.This article finds the inner link of between "new media art" and "commercial space design" on aesthetic experience, and in order to find out the developing tendency of commercial space design in new media art perspective, the author tries to study them together in the field of commercial space design. This author hopes that this paper can not only make a little contribution to theoretical research of commercial space design, but also develop new ideas and methods for its practice. All of these will be beneficial to improve the artistic connotation and overall quality of commercial space design.
