Inheritance And Mingling On The Traditional Architectural Elements In Modern Architecture

The development of Chinese architecture has entered a pluralistic development period to now. In the 30s and 40s of 20th, western modernism architecture was introduced into China. It accelerates the modernization of Chinese building, at the same time, the heritage of Chinese traditional architecture has a huge impact. The protection of traditional architectural culture is facing unprecedented challenges. So it is necessary to study and analysis the traditional architectural culture, picking up the outstanding design idea and the culture idea in traditional architecture, to guide the design of modern architecture.Chinese traditional architecture is distinctive very much in form and space. Its unique characteristic of structure, beautiful form of language, organic spatial organization and profound symbolic meaning are on behalf of the Chinese traditional culture and have heritage value. Modern architecture pursues the richness of functionality and the diversification of modelling. At the same time, the traditional architectural culture should also be inheritanced in the modern architectural design. This is not a form of imitation but put the traditional architectural language into modern design methods to express to comply with the development of the times.This paper analyzes the characteristics of the traditional architectural space and form from the angle of modern design method through the analysis of the characteristics of the traditional architectural space and form. In contrast, Chinese modern architecture is exploring a new forms of traditional building and absorbs the advantages and sums up experience after the modern architecture entering China. Combining with the characteristics of function and forms of modern architecture, it explores the traditional architectural language used in modern architecture methods. And it combines with related cases from four aspects about the form, symbols, space and artistic conception to discuss. Classified and arranged some representative cases of Chinese traditional architectural language classification that exists in the present stage, it analyzes expression way of traditional architectural language in modern architecture from the design concept,shape characteristics, color application and symbolic implication and other aspects. Through the analysis and thinking above, looking for ways to design method and design ideas that both can reflect the spirit of the times of modern architecture and the excellent culture of Chinese traditional architecture.
