Industrial Heritage is an important part of the cultural heritage. The study of human Industrial Heritage began in the 1950 s when the British private research organizations started the investigation and research work on industrial ruins and remains after the Industrial Revolution, based on “Industrial Archaeology”. In July 2003, TICCIH 12 th General Assembly, held in Nizhny Tagil, Russia, adopted the International Industrial Heritage programmatic document “Nizhny Tagil Charter on industrial heritage”, marking the international community reached a general consensus in Industrial Heritage. April 18, 2006, the "International Monuments and Sites Day", themed Industrial Heritage and China Industrial Heritage Forum was held in Wuxi, China. The forum adopted a charter document on Industrial Heritage, "Wuxi proposal".Industrial heritage doesn’t only mean all industrial buildings remained, but also plant for industrial production, processing, maintenance as well as the supporting building, structures and infrastructure for warehousing, office, residential and service. Buildings and their location with recognized significance of historical cultural and transformation reuse are also contained. Industrial heritage should have recorded the change and development of modern society.At present, the international community generally higher emphasis on the degree of protection of industrial heritage. Research carried out earlier in related fields with many outstanding achievements of the theory and practice. Compared to the research process abroad, the research and practice in the field of industrial heritage in China is kind of backward with lack of emphasis on the industrial heritage. In the condition of increasingly accelerated urbanization and fast-paced urban construction in China, the brutal way of "major demolition and construction" and "pushed and restart" to industrial heritage is mainly used, which makes extensive damage and loss of industrial heritage.In recent years, the industrial heritage slowly begun to attract attention in our country and certain theories and practices appeared. However, research in the field still has a long way to go and there are some common problems especially in the cognitive aspects of industrial heritage value. The study of protection and utilization in industrial heritage the great significance as China has rich industrial heritage resources.
