This paper researches into the parametric design system of passenger-vehicle wheels with the flourishing development of automobile industry and the advanced technology of three-dimensional parametric design, in the purpose of meeting the demands of SMEs.The application of this system will help to shorten the design cycle of the wheels and even the finished automobiles, by which the users and their enterprises will be more competitive in the automobile market.The paper probes into the current situation of CAD and parametric design, studies on the relevantly needed tools, analyzes the functions of this system, and determines overall design scheme. Most importantly, the study makes researches and the detailed demonstrations of’UG/OPEN. In the process of developing the system, a study is also conducted on MFC and OraclellgR2. Then, with the help of VS2010, application program is designed and developed.The result can be shown as follows:Based on UG, a three-dimensionally parametric model base is founded.Based on UG/OPEN, the system menu is created and DLL is produced.Based on MFC and VS2010, the application program is developed and the human-computer interaction is realized.Based on Oracle llgR2, the database of passenger-vehicle wheel components is set up. Combined with ADO, the original model base can be stored and invoked.
