| The stairwell is the main evacuation facilitiy to escape to the high-rise building and the deep buried building when the fire happens, and it undertakes the misson of the large population emergency evacuation. There are significant evacuation characteristics between the evacuations on the long stairwell and the horizontal surface, such asmerging behavior, turning behavior and accumulate effect. Compare with the horizontal evacuation, the evacuation on the long stairwell is more dangerous, and the evacuation efficiency is lower. Obtaining ascending and descending speed, influence factors and evacuation characteristics on the long stairwell can provide scientific reference and data support for the evacuation simulation and performance-based design. It is crucial to carry out experimental study on the walking speed on the long stairwell of the multistory building.Based on summarizing previous evacuation dynamics research on stairwell, the paper carried out experiment to study the ascending and descending speed, influence factors and evacuation characteristics on the long stairwell. According to the systematic summarization of previous evacuation dynamics research, it determined the research contents and research methods. The evacuation experiment on the long stairwas carried out to study ascending and descending speed and evacuation characteristics. And main research results were as follows:(1) The individual ascent and descentexperiment was carried out to study the individual ascent and descent time and speed, and it found the distribution regularity of individual evacuation time and the distribution regularity ascent speed and descent speed.(2) The results of one-way ANOVA analysis showed that there were no significant correlations between the ascent and descent speed and the weight, the body mass index and the physical fitness test scores.(3) The cluster ascent and descentexperiment was carried out to study ascent and descent speed. The range of ascent and descent speed was 0.29~1.0m/s and 0.41~0.87m/s, and the average ascent and descent speed was 0.50±0.09m/s and 0.61±0.08m/s. The cluster ascent and descent speed didn’t change with the evacuation distance increase.(4) Based on the evacuation time curves and the evacuation speed, it showed that the crowd is more constrained by people in the front of the crowd. Merging behavior was found to had great influence on the evacuation by analyzing ascent and descent speed, pedestrian density, and pedestrian flow.(5) It investigated the effect of the different calculation methods of personnel quantity on the density calculation based on the relation between speed and density. According to the linear fitting of velocity and density, the relational model of velocity and density was built. |
