With the rapid development of technology, hydraulic technology is being used in an increasing number of application areas. Hydraulic pump is one of the most important components of the hydraulic system,its performance test is very important. For the traditional test bench the performance of hydraulic pump are tested in energy-intensive way; although there are less components in the bentch, but a lot of heat energy are produced which led to oil temperature increase quickly and are also bad for performance test of the hydraulic pump.For the enterprise requirement of testing larger pump with smaller installed power in test bench, this paper analyzes the pros and cons of the existing power recovery system for pump test and puts forward one kind of testing system with the power recovery, and derives the calculation equations for the parameters of the main elements which match the test pump in the bench. A simulation model of the test circuit is built up on AMEsim software platform; the designed test circuit is proved to still have the significant energy saving effect under the condition of the lower volume efficiency of the hydraulic pumpby simulation computation; Meanwhile with the aid of simulation, a closed-loop control is established for the speed of the test pump by adjusting the displacement of the compensation pump so as to achieve the stability of the pressure and speed. For the particular pump a real power recovery test bench is constructed and completed; The hardware of the measurement and control system for established test rig includes Evoc industrial PC, NI PCI6259 data acquisition card, sensors and etc; the program is developed based on the Labview platform; finally, the hydraulic pump is tested on the bench and the relevant testing data shows that there is a higherpower recovery percent; and the design target is realized. Comparing with the traditional energy-intensive test bench,the established test bench here has significant energy saving effect and produce small amount of heat during the testing and is with small installed power; compareing with the existing power recovery test bench,the established test bench is of better operational performance and is loaded more conveniently at the expense of partial recovery power.
