With the large-scale construction and operation of high-speed railway in China, the function and structure of railway corridor are continuously improved. As passenger transport diverted by high-speed railway, freight transport becomes the focus of the parallel existing lines. The selectively paths of partial freight among the parallel existing lines make some certain car flows transfor from one existing line to another. As a result, it cause overall capacity of the corridor declining and the economy loss of the railway company Therefore, it is very important to research on how to scientifically divide the work of the parallel existing lines and optimize the car flow path, in order to making full use of existing equipment and improving the quality of the freight transport, and coordinate and.This paper is based on the railway north-south corridor consisted of the Beijing-Kowloon Line, the Beijing-Guangzhou line and the Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Line. Under the analysis of the present freight transport situation and carrying capacity of the corridor, using the basic theories and methods of car flow organization, it researches on the reasonable division and car flow routing optimization among the parallel existing lines in the corridor. Then this article builds a car flow routing optimization model which algorithm is designing at the same time. The main researches of this paper are as follow:(1) This paper analyzes the freight volume and structure in the corridor and elaborates the calculation method of railway capacity and station capacity. Considers with the capacity of corridor, it concludes the centralized, heavy-load, direct, containerization, fast development trend of freight transport in the corridor.(2) The classification and the influence factors of the parallel existing line attracting scope are discussed. A new classification method for attracting scope is put forward as the following three steps:selecting distribution station, then dividing region, lastly merging regional stream.(3) The definition and the principles of the reasonable division between the parallel existing lines are studied. With the car flow routing theories, this paper puts forward the factors of car flow routing optimization as follow:insufficient capacity of main line, car flows without shortest path, redistribution of flows between parallel existing lines and the releasing of capacity.(4) A model for reasonable division of parallel existing lines and car flow routing optimization which aimed for the most equilibrium degree of the parallel line and the minium traveling time of car flows is established. Based on the advantages and disadvantages of existing algorithm, this article designs the genetic algorithm which is encoded by group code. Then, it gives the calculation steps and process.(5) Taking the south-north corridor as an example, the reasonable divisions and car flow routing adjustment strategies is confirmed between the Beijing-Kowloon Line, the Beijing-Guangzhou line and the Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Line.
