The domestic engineering projects are becoming more and more large-scale, complicated and prolonged with the society progressing and the economy developing in recent years. The project team cooperation including the single participant and multi-participant has been widely used in the field of engineering project, and has broad prospects of development. The implementation of the engineering project is characterized by the long duration and the heavy workload. However, the characteristic of the implementation period will be difficult for the cooperation of project team members and lead to some negative phenomena about project team members such as struggling to cooperate and free rider, which seriously hinder the execution efficiency and overall progress of the project. So it is obviously important and necessary to study the cooperative behavior of engineering project team members during the implementation of the project.Assuming the project team members are limited rational, this paper will research the cooperative behavior of engineering project team members during the implementation of the project under the social preference conditions including fairness preference and strong reciprocity. The whole study will combine the development trend of the project organization mode and behavioral economics research and be based on the current characteristic and exiting problems of the project team cooperation during the implementation period. The main work of this paper includes the following respects:Firstly, the cooperative behavior of multi-participant engineering project team members is studied considering the fairness preference. Based on the building and numerical simulation of the proposed model, this study concludes that there is the positive correlation between the fairness preference of project team members and the profit of the project owner as well as the cooperative effort level of project team members. Besides there is also the positive correlation between the influence coefficient about the output of other members influenced by the cooperative effort of project team members and the profit of the project owner as well as the cooperative effort level of project team members.Secondly, the cooperative behavior of single participant engineering project team members is studied considering both the fairness preference and the strong reciprocity. The evolutionary game model is constructed in order to analysis how the fairness preference and the strong reciprocity impact the cooperative behavior strategies of engineering project team members. The research concludes that the stronger aversion about the inequity among high effort level project team members and the weaker guilt among low effort level project team member will make the project team cooperation to be worse. The strong reciprocity of high effort level project team member can effectively inhibit the free-rider behavior among project team members which is conducive to maintaining the stability of project team. The higher ratio of high effort level project team members and the lower additional cost of high effort level behavioral strategy will make the project team cooperation to be better.Considering the social preference conditions including fairness preference and strong reciprocity, this paper builds the economic model and discusses the influence of social preferences on the cooperative behavior of project team members. This research combines the theory and the practice, effectively promotes the cooperation of members and improves the efficiency of cooperation. The results of the study can provide the theoretical support for the cooperative behavior of project team members, and put forward some strategic suggestions.
