Discussion Of Waterscape Ecological Revetment Design In Urban Areas

Urban waterscape revetment is not only the transition place to complete city aquatic ecosystems, terrestrial ecosystem of the material, energy and information exchange, but also provides an ideal space for all kinds of aquatic life to survive and reproduce. However, the ecotone of ecological revetment and landscape corridor is gradually losing its function,because of too much emphasis on flood control functions of urban waterscape revetment, all kinds of rigid structure with the city and various sizes of rigidity revetment waters. And ecological revetment could form good green space landscape with the surrounding environment, and also establish a rich natural ecological landscape system from water to fish,plants, and making the water clear, fish and shrimp abundant, plants lush. Thus, it is meaningful to study on ecological revetment design for city environment protection and ecological balance.In this paper, I studied the urban waterscape revetment system by literature research,field investigation and combining theory with practice, the results were as followings:1. Summarizing the present situation and research progress of domestic and foreign urban waterscape revetment and then extracting the guiding ideology and ideas of the modern urban waterscape revetment construction:(1) Advocating landscape ecological revetment design—based on the basic revetment function, choosing environmental protection and more conducive to community development for revetment material;(2) Encouraging landscape reflecting local culture- putting local elements and culture into the design, especially choosing native tree species in plant design.2. By analyzing the types and characteristics of urban waterscape revetment through literature references and field investigation, urban waterscape revetment is mainly divided into three types:(1) Natural original ecological revetment: on the basis of maintaining the natural state of original river system and adding with some ecological plants;(2) Natural revetment: planting various of green plants and reinforcing embankment with stone and wood to protect the banks of the river;(3) Terraced artificial natural revetment: refinedly processingthe terraced layers and natural levees coupled with the reinforced concrete solid material to improve the maximum flood prevention ability.3. Putting forward the principle of modern urban waterscape ecological revetment design:(1) The stability and safety of revetment structure;(2) Maintaining and optimizing the dynamic balance of ecological system constantly;(3) According to the laws of nature and aesthetic principles, presenting the personality and characteristics of water by planning from all-round, multi-angle, multiple forms;(4) Understanding people’s psychological needs and thoroughly studying the local folk customs.4. Analyzing the problems existing in the current urban waterscape revetment:(1) Local landscape lacking cultural connotation and having no local characteristics;(2) Monotonous local plant landscape and the same scene along the road; No ecological concept and poor plant selection causing bad late plant landscape;(3) Landscape facilities lacking humanization design;(4) The aging of facilities and the deficiency in the design leading to great potential safety problems.5. Based on the above principles and problems, I evaluated the Aiyi River landscape revetment, and proposed the ecological revetment design concept and the detailed improvement design of the original revetment.The original imitation wood square was redesigned to a two layered square with a variety of pavement, ethnic customs, easy to accession water, business practices and perfect combination of sound and light and other forms. Also, I designed several small waterside platforms to fully meet the requirements of visitors accession to water. In plant selection, on the basis of the guarantee survival rate of plants and the principles of optimum environment of trees, I chose the reasonable plants to form flowers in three seasons and evergreen landscape. In the terms of paving, I increased the types of pavement materials and the change of road to achieve the directive property of road. This design would bring more excellent ecological value and environmental benefits for the local residents and tourists.All in all, I presented my own opinions and design by systematically studying on ecological revetment references and field reconnaissance, in order to provide theoretical basis and information for ecological revetment design in North China in the future.
