With permanent magnets and field coils which are both exciting sources, Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Machine(HESM)not only has the feature of high efficiency like permanent magnet synchronous machine,but also has adjustable air gap magnetic field like electrically excited synchronous machine. So there is great prospect of application in motor speed control sector. Researchers from home and abroad have spent much energy on the structure of HESM and have made great achievements. But few studies focused on the implementation of HESM driving system and the intelligent field-regulation strategy of HESM. In this paper,a novel intelligent field-control strategy of HESM which is based on vector control scheme has been put forward and applied into HESM driving system. The major work is as follows:In the first two chapters, the characteristics of HESM and its research status and developing trend have been briefly introduced firstly. Then the structure of HESM and its field-regulation principle have been discussed. At last, the mathematical models of HESM at different reference frame have been studied, paving the way for the research on the field-control strategy of HESM driving system.In chapter three, the speed characteristics curve of HESM has been divided into four zone. Different strategies are applied into different zone in order to realize coordination control of speed、voltage and field control. Then a novel intelligent field-regulation strategy based on vector control scheme has been finally put forward.In chapter four and five, hardware and soft design of HESM driving system have been completed. In hardware designatin, the inverter topology and type selection of its power device have been firstly discussed. Then the topology of excitation supply and its operating principle have been studied in detail. The controlling circuits including IGBT driver circuit sampling and conditioning circuit and over-current protection circuit are described briefly. The software designation is consist of main program flow chart and steps of interrupt service routine.In order to testify the feasibility of HESM driving system with intelligent field regulation strategy, relevant experiments are conducted in chapter four. First, the debugging results of software key module indicate the system is reliable. Then the performance of HESM are tested, proving the effectiveness of the driving system.
