Rural infrastructure construction and village renovation are essential means to improve basic production and living conditions in rural areas and make the human settlement in rural areas better. The lack of rural infrastructure projects and poor human settlement have not only affect the livability level of villages and brought inconveniences to rural residents’ production and life, but also restricted the overall development of the rural social economy. Ever since the central government put forward the goal of building a new socialist countryside in 2005, rural infrastructure construction has experienced a nearly 10- year development and made significant progress. Functions and environment in rural areas have been improved, to some extent. However, from the early e xperience of the new rural construction, it can be seen that many problems have been presented in the village planning and construction. In particular, infrastructure construction projects have appeared to mismatch with actual needs of village renovation, require high costs and cause serious damages to ecological environments of rural areas.Firstly, a summary is made of experience and lessons drawn from practices and research of rural infrastructure construction in China and foreign countries. Moreover, the current situation and existing problems of the rural infrastructure construction are analyzed to identify several problems existing in village building, including the poor rural infrastructure, serious damages to the ecological environment, mismatch with the actual situation, high costs and poor operability of rural infrastructure planning, and lack of unified planning and poor operating results of rural infrastructure construction.Secondly, on the basis of relevant literature and field investigations of village renovation and infrastructure construction projects, work is done to collect and sort out excellent construction technical schemes for rural infrastructure construction in C hina and foreign countries, analyze technical performance and application conditions of each construction technique and put forward construction technique-selecting principles for each infrastructure type. As different assessment indexes are chosen for different regions, three assessment methods are adopted to make a comprehensive assessment of indexes such as economic benefits, technical performance, environmental influence and social influence of construction techniques, so as to ultimately get a low-cost construction technique alternative scheme in line with concrete situation of rural areas, and established the infrastructure construction technology system.Finally, village construction-related laws, regulations, norms and standards are summarized and sorted out, so as to ensure an orderly and legitimate implementation of infrastructure construction activities in rural areas and prevent blind construction and illegal construction in the village renovation.Rural infrastructure construction is a kind of system engineering consuming a large amount of funds and resources. This res earch aims to develop sets of application technologies in line with rural resources, economic and ecological features through a comprehensive analysis and sifting of construction techniques, in hope of providing technical support to relevant planning designers and construction workers in rural construction, promoting rural infrastructure construction to from a systematic and normalized system for planning, design, construction and management, and boosting the comprehensive and sustainable development of social economy in rural areas.
