Extradosed bridge has been recognized by more and more people with it’s advantages,such as structural rigidity, driving comfort, good structure high reliability, simple and elegant appearance, mature construction technology, relatively simple conservation, etc. The design and construction technology of PC box girder with corrugated steel webs has developed rapidly in China in recent years,and becoming a successful bridge type which is suitable for Chinese design and construction technology. The PC Extradosedbridge with corrugated steel web technology combines the advantages of this two construction techniques,so it has broad application prospects. Considering that this class of the bridge is in development and there are only a few domestic and foreign construction instances,it is particularly important to summarize and discuss the bridge design and construction of such key technology issues timely.The main span of Zhengzhou Chao yang Ditch Bridge is 188m, which is the longest span of PC Extradosedbridge with corrugated steel web in the world. This paper takes Zhengzhou Chao yang Ditch Bridge as the engineering example, through detailed engineering design of the bridge, from the aspects of conceptual design, structure theory and construction methods, the keys of PC Extradosedbridge with corrugated steel web had been discussed such as the applicability, design of key technologies, construction points and so on, for peer reference. By comparison programs, conceptual analysis and finite element calculations, the following conclusions had been drawn. 1. The design standards of Zhengzhou Chao yang Ditch Bridge comply with current regulatory requirements in general. Reasonable structure size was drawn up and the bridge has reliable force and reasonable configuration on ordinary reinforced, pre-stressed steel and cable-stayed. Mechanical behavior of the bridge is in line with the design requirements of short-term situation in the construction phase. Structure bearing capacity during the operation period, stress and stiffness satisfied regulatory requirements.2. The use experience of common shear connectors bond of corrugated steel webs has been analyzed. After comparison and analysis, it is found that shear studs linkage is equally applicable to large-span PC box girder with corrugated steel webs, which has excellent mechanical properties and considerable economic advantages. Shear studs were used between concrete roofs and corrugated steel webs in Chao yang Ditch Bridge, which made a pioneering contribution in optimizing shear connectors of long-span corrugated steel webs.3. Using Zhengzhou Chao yang Ditch Bridge as an engineering example, compared with conventional long span concrete girder bridge,that PC Extradosed bridge with corrugated steel web has the advantages of high material utilization efficiency, good seismic performance, easy to improve post-bearing capacity, convenient structure maintenance, economic and environmentally friendly features is fully illustrated.
