ZigBee is a competitive technology. It has a lot of advantages like low powerconsumption, low cost, short distance, short time delay, large capacity, highsecurity. The new intelligent home system researched in this paper selected thistechnology in order to improve the flexibility of system.The new type of intelligent home system described in this paper is divided intohardware module and software module. The hardware module has2parts whichinclude a home gateway which acts as ZigBee network coordinator and a sensor andautomatic equipment which act as ZigBee network node. The temperature sensor tocollect the temperature by used DB18B20, humidity sensor collects the humidity byused SHT11and using a photoelectric coupler MOC3041to realize lighting control.In the software module, inside of IAR development environment, combination ofC++language and Z-Stack protocol stack, to achieve the software design of a newintelligent home system. Finally, to test the network, function, performance and powerconsumption of the model by used serial debugging assistant tools. The test resultsshowed that the intelligent home system by used ZigBee can reach to requirements ofthe users very well. And also it has a lot of advantages like wireless, fast networkcreation, good performance, and low power consumption.The research of a new intelligent home system based on ZigBee with low cost ofhardware and has high deployment flexibility and expansibility.
