The Research On Technology Of Tibetan Blockhouse In Banma Qinghai Province

Banma County belongs to Qinghai Province，it’s a livestock integration region.There are two forms of residential buildings in the area，one is adapted to the pastorallife of mobile houses，which called Tent；another is adapted to permanent residentialagricultural zone， which called Blockhouse.The Banma Blockhouses are mainlydistributed in agricultural and pastoral areas of the Make river valley.The Technology ofTibetan Blockhouse was generated in a specific natural environment and socialenvironment. It contains a unique wisdom of construction technology which wasselected for the third batch of intangible cultural heritage list of countries in2011. Asphysical carriers， existing blockhouses reflect the backgrounds and features of thetechnology under certain conditions.They are important objects to study theconstruction technology of themselves.The technology is developing with thedevelopment of the circumstances. Different circumstances require different technology.In the past locals required only residential buildings as shelters，while taking intoaccount certain religious beliefs.However，with the guidelines of current policies onnew rural construction，the introduction of new materials and technology，and the needsof living space for higher quality，aesthetic pursuit，and many other factors，peoplebegan spontaneously improving the traditional technology in construction activities. Inthis condition，although to some extent remain the geographical features，the newblockhouses exist problems in construction and aesthetic.So，firstly stated the generate background of Banma blockhouse based on literatureresearch and field research，And summarize the settlements， building space and arts ofBanma blockhouse. Secondly，to summarize the construction technology throughMaterials，scale，structural，architectural space，construction technology and decorative arts. Analysis its characteristics and shortages.Thirdly，analyze and summarize thebackground changes of contemporary Banma blockhouses， and spontaneouslyimproving of the traditional technology in construction activities.Then summarize theproblems of contemporary blockhouse construction activities.Finally，based on therelated technical achievements and combined with scientific research design practice，proposes update strategy of Banma blockhouse. It ncludes four strategies improving theinternal space environment and construction technology， reasonable to introduceappropriate new technologies，inheritancing architectural geographical and culturalcharacteristics. On the one hand，the purpose of this study is to collect information ofthe Banma blockhouse and supplement the literature，on the other hand，is to provide areference for the current new rural construction in Banma County.
