Study Of Renewal Strategy On Agricultural Culture-led Old City In Yangling

Under Western Development’s further promoting and Guanzhong UrbanAgglomeration’s rapidly construction, Yangling, as the second core city of"Guanzhong-Tianshui" urban system, sets the goal of "Chinese Agricultural SiliconValley". However, the old town of Yangling’s history is so long that many problems,such as materiality aging, function declining and so on, have been emerged. The oldTown can not meet the increasing need of urban development, and so it needs to updatebadly. Meanwhile Yangling is the birthplace of Chinese agricultural civilization, and theonly national agricultural high-tech industrial zones. Based on the above backgroundand foundation, the article proposes renewal strategy on agricultural culture-led OldCity in Yangling, on the one hand to resolve the Old City’s problems and to reflect thecharacteristics of Yangling, on the other hand to provide reference and inspiration forother agricultural Towns renewing.The article follows the procedure that asking questions-analyzing problem-solvingproblem, and uses field survey, data reference and other research methods.Firstly,through digging the Yangling Agricultural culture deeply understand YanglingAgricultural cultural types, characteristics and the relationships with Yangling;Secondly, followed by analyzing the status quo and construction features of the oldtown understand what problems need to be solved in the old city renewal; Thirdly, bystudying the inner link between agricultural culture and urban renewal find theinspiration of agricultural culture to urban renewal; Finally, based on the foregoinganalysis, put forward to the renewing strategies for the old town of Yangling.The article can be divided into five parts. The first part is the first chapter. Itdiscusses the research background and significance, defines the research content andrelated concepts, and develops the research framework. The second part is the second chapter. It mainly summarizes the Yangling Agricultural cultural characteristics and theimpacts, analyzes the construction status and characteristics of the old town, and comesup to the problems in the Old City of Yangling, which mainly including transportation,facilities, urban function and appearance of the Old City. The third part includes thethird chapter and the fourth chapter. It mainly summarizes the theories and cases, andinterprets agricultural culture and urban renewal, then gets the inspiration fromagriculture, at last makes the basic framework for urban renewal. The fourth part is thefifth chapter. It proposes the update strategies for Yangling old town. Based on theinspiration from agricultural cultures and some cases, the article proposes seven aspectsof the strategies, including the mixed functional layout, the productive urban landscape,the cultural connotation of the environment pieces facilities, the ecologicalinfrastructures, the complex road traffic, the sustainable development and the renewalmanagement of public participatory. The fifth part is the sixth chapter. It bases on therenewal strategies, proposing the renewal design and spatial integration for the old cityof Yangling to illustrate the above renewal strategies.
