Along with the rapid development of China’s highway, the Highway Planning Networkhas basically formed. The highway management tasks gradually shift from construction toconservation. The conservation of asphalt pavement will become the emphasis work in thefuture.This paper based on the highway asphalt pavement maintenance engineering ofGuang-Zhu East expressway, survey the performance and analysis the disease causes of thehighway asphalt pavement that laid the foundation for asphalt pavement maintenance repairprogram. In order to choose the appropriate conservation measures of asphalt pavement, thispaper according to different kinds of pavement and different types of traffic, then dividedsections, using different programs to treat the diseases of asphalt pavement. By comparing thetechnical and economic of the programs, the maintenance use two different kinds of structureforms overly program which are SBS modified asphalt concrete and modified rubber asphaltconcrete. In connection with the concept that “Emphasis on repair, contempt on prevention”in China, this maintenance carried out the research of preventive maintenance. Thenapplication of Hot in-place and Novachip ultra-thin friction course in Guangdong province.Using these two kinds of conservation programs, not only can carry out the preventivemaintenance work but also can compare with other two programs.In addition, this paper introduced asphalt pavement hot in-place recycling, Novachipultra-thin friction course and rubber asphalt concrete from material mix, constructiontechnology and so on. After the completion of the project, this paper tracked the effect of eachconstruction program, then assess the effect of the project according to collected indexes ofpavement condition. Through the analysis of the usage and the pavement performanceevaluation by years, this paper verify the applicability of the program which is to repairasphalt pavement. Each program can almost achieve the desired effect. The application effectof the program also verify that asphalt pavement hot in-place recycling can disposal abrasion,pavement aging and so other disease. On the other side, the Novachip ultra-thin frictioncourse has a better effect on repair tiny diseases of the asphalt pavement and the rubberasphalt concrete is good to deal with reflective cracks.
