With the revision of the specifications and the improvement of requirements andthe building performance degradation due to various natural and anthropogenicimpacts, which may have a variety of security risks. We need to reanalyze the seismicperformance of the reservoir which was built according to the original specification orhas been used for a long time, so as to check out whether the reservoir could meet theneed of performance and production or not. Therefore, how to analyze the builtreservoir and definite the safety of the structure have been an important subject infront of the engineering and technical personnel, and this is also the research purposeof this paper. We analyzed the whole process of the seismic calculation of a reservoir tankwhich was built in Sapporo, Japan, and this work was based on many design methods, such as the design method of two stages and the horizontal seismic intensityrecommended by the Japanese Civil Association, the method of seismic calculationand organized result given by Japanese Water Works Association, and the dynamictime-history analysis method. This paper uses two different methods of calculation, one is the seismic degree method of the static analysis. According to thecorresponding seismic dynamic intensity of Level1and Level2, Midas software wasused to establish a three-dimension model of fluid reservoir with the consideration ofsoil compact, then the results were divided into pieces to be organized by thehorizontal endurance maintains method, and we can determine the reinforcementrefurbishment program by the resulting scope and causes of destruction. The othermethod is dynamic time-history analysis, we selected the corresponding intensityEl-centro wave and Tianjin wave of Level1and Level2,and the two-dimensionalmodel of two typical cross-section of the fluid reservoir were established by Ansyssoftware to analyze the built soil unit. And then by the select of typical nodes and theanalysis of displacement and stress of the calculation results, the stress-time curve ofdisplacement and stress were got which can be analyzed. At last, through thecomparison of those two methods, the reliability of seismic degree method wasverified, and which also can provide new ideas for the seismic checking of domesticunderground structures.
