In the AC/DC Adapter manufacturing industry, the high-frequency transformer, one ofthe key components, depends heavily on manual work. The complexity of coiling and thediversity of core and bobbin, bring great difficulties to the automatic manufacturing, andraise requests of raw material process.This paper is about the design and the realization of an automatic tube cutting machine.And this machine provides certain length of tube to the manipulator who is makingtransformer. The mechanical structures and operating principles of Tube Cutting Machineare analyzed in the paper, also the techniques of Sensor, MCU and Virtual Instrument arediscussed here. Based on these techniques and cored of MCU HT66FU60, a set ofcontrolling solution is put forward. After comparing different programs with differentsensors, it turns out that Hall Sensor is the most suitable one to detect the location of toolsand rotation turns of motor. For the keyboard detecting, an innovative method which basedon the Finite-state machine is taken into consideration. For the display module, Driver ICMAX7219is used to ease the burden of MCU. For the Power module,flyback switchingpower which based on PSR technology is used in the design. This design is good forreducing the cost and simplifying the circuit. For the tube length control, governing themotor speed by stages can reduce the overshoot of rotation turns caused by the inertia. Forthe PC program design, by taking advantage of the event-driven of LabVIEW, CPUutilization reduces and program operating efficiency increases.It is tested that the Tube Cutting Machine can meet the design requirements on responseand length accuracy. Considering its independence when design, the Tube Cutting Machinealso can be used in other fields such as clothing and toys manufacturing. Because of its cost-effective, the Tube Cutting Machine has a bright future in the market.
