Self-powered system is an energy source that will be converted into electrical energyrequired by the user. Generally, there are two types of this system structure model,the firststructure is a generator driven by a diesel engine and then connect this generator through apower converter required by the user; The second structure is based on the industrial powergrid and then connect this generator through a power converter required by the user.Application of the occasion determines the basic structure of self-powered system. In asense, selecting the basic structure is the foundation of the self-powered system, whichdetermines the reliability and stability of the power quality of the user. To makeself-powered system using in a wider occasion, the research group choose diesel energy asthe source of this system, and then connect the other multiple peripherals, includingmedium frequency generator, drive motor, generator and high-voltage charger, using thesedevices to realize changing the electrical energy. The main work of this paper is to study thedrive motor. Because the motor is the bridge of medium frequency generator and thehigh-voltage generator, and also the key of this system, so the performance of this motordirectly determines the quality of the system.Firstly, several common motors were analyzed in this paper. Combining thecharacteristics of the self-powered system, selecting the switched reluctance motor(SRM)as the driven motor.Secondly, a detailed analysis of the advantages of this type of motor inthe system were discussed. According to the mathematical model of the SRM and thetraditional control method, determine the control strategy: current chopping and angularposition control.The performance of the drive system were simulated by Matlab/Simulink,and aprototype was tested. Friction loss is a major factor, which restrict the speed rises in thistrial, so the vacuum system was used to solve this problem.Finally, Compile the software, using the serial port connected to a computer with DSPcontrol board to achieve a virtual instrument visualization.
