In recent years, along with the handing equipment in coal terminal developingtowards large-scale, automated and more efficient, maintenance management issuesbecome increasingly prominent. As the types and construction of coal terminalequipment is complex, the failure is randomness and the mode is diverse andcomplicated, with different influence to the equipment dependability. All these makemaintenance management become a very complex question. Based on the reliabilitytheory and the risk of equipment failure method, this paper makes a deep research onthe maintenance decision of main equipment in the emerging silo coal terminal. Themain contents are as follows:First of all, do a research on the constitution of silo coal terminal equipment andfailure analysis method. This paper analyzes the handling technology both oftraditional and silo coal terminal, carries on the division to the silo coal terminalequipment and analyzes the working principle of the main equipment and analyzesthe structure of ship loader, tippler and belt conveyor. Based on FMEA analysismethod and the equipment characters of silo coal terminal, it studies the scoringcriteria for the target of failure mode and effects and the analysis process.Second, do a reliability analysis of silo coal terminal based on the principle ofFMEA. Based on the widely collected data of actual operation and the structure ofkey equipment,the paper analyzes the equipment’s function and the common faultsand effects, getting a cumulative failure rate of equipment and figuring out the failurerate’s scores. The paper also evaluates the scores of severity and detection difficultbased on the basic principle and analysis process and characteristics of failure ofFMEA, and finishes the FMEA analysis of the ship loader, tippler and belt conveyor.Third, finish the risk assessment of the ship loader and tippler based on fuzzytheory and TOPSIS decision method, establishing index system of the key equipmentof silo coal terminal based on the theory of multi-attribute decision-making aswell.The triangular fuzzy number is employed to reduce assessment indexsubjectivity and the comprehensive evaluation index is established. It also finishes risk assessment of slip cylinder and dumper overturning.Finally,according to the reliability analysis and risk assessment results, itfinishes the maintenance decision of key equipment of silo coal terminal. Based onthe basic theory of Reliability Centered Maintenance(RCM),the paper establishes adecision model for main equipment of silo coal terminal. And based on RCM logicdecision process, the paper establishes the decision criteria which are suitable for thekey equipment of silo coal terminal. It also finishes the failure mode’s maintenancemode decision of ship loader slip cylinder mechanism and dumper overturningsystem. Besides, it introduces the method to calculate the maintenance cycle ofpreventive maintenance, figuring out the maintenance cycle of the cracking failuremode according to the actual operation data.Through the above research, the paper comes up with a new equipmentmaintenance decision method that based on reliability and risk assessment which ismore scientific and accurate.
