Crankshaft is extremely easy to cause the fatigue defects and actual effectaccident which is affected by high temperature and high alternating stress duringoperation for a long time. Due to the crankshaft has complex shape, complicatedmanufacturing process, It needs to determine whether to remanufacture and whetherto have value of remanufacturing which require nondestructive testing(NDT) beforeremanufacturing crankshaft. In this paper, the crankshaft ultrasonic nondestructivetesting(UNDT) done following aspects research:Firstly, introducing the principle of UNDT, comparing traditional ultrasonicdetection technology with phased array ultrasonic inspection technology,summarizeing the advantages of crankshaft that inspected by the ultrasonic phasedarray technology.Building dynamic model of crankshaft system, obtained each link load curves byused the ADAMS software to simulation analysis of crankshaft system in differenttime during in one cycle.The rusults provide the foundation for finite element analysisof crankshaft.Building Crankshaft finite element model, applied the results of dynamicanalysis in the finite element model of crankshaft and analysed the crankshaft ofstatics, obtained the positions of crankshaft which are prone to fatigue defective bydynamics and static analysis.The positions determine the focus detected positions ofcrankshaft phased array UNDT.According to the focus detected positions of the crankshaft testing sites to thewhole crankshaft testing division, this can improve the detection efficiency ofcrankshaft. And according to the complexity of the crankshaft outline and the analysisof the different detecting position, Determined the ultrasonic phased array inspectionparameters, testing process and testing steps of the Crankshaft.This paper designed a complete set of crankshaft ultrasonic phased arraydetection system, including automatic testing and manual testing. Finally, this articleverified whether testing process and detection system meets the test requirementsthrough the crankshaft test block experiment. The results of this article provided specific detection scheme for the detectionbefore crankshaft remanufacturing, improved the storage detection efficiency anddetection accuracy. At the same time positioning and quantification analysis throughdetection defect data provided data support for crankshaft remanufacturing, shortenedthe cycle of crankshaft remanufacturing, improved remanufacturing efficiency.
