The merits of contactor’s performance depends on the dynamic characteristics of itspull-on and break-down process,this process would directly present in two ways,one ismovement or bounce of the core which is belongs to the electromagnetic system,the otherone is the bounce of the contacts.These two factors will deternine the mechanical life andelectrical life of contactor.Therefore,the operate process of contactor to be an importantresearch topic.In the past,most measurements for electrical and mechanical parameters ofcontactors are static.In recent years,although there have been some kinds of test device forcontactor,but they can not meet the needs of the optimal design of contactor.These are thesituation,difficulties and bottlenceks of contactor design.With the development of moderndesign methods,a kind of more advanced test device to be in demand.The device shouldcontrol the dynamic process of contactor and achieve full range test of dynamiccharacteristics,and provide data base for the subsequent design of contactor.Based on these requirements,a test system is designed for contactor dynamiccharacteristic.By analyzing the dynamic characteristics of contactor’s pull-on andbreak-down process,suitable measurement devices were selected to achieve precisemeasurement of Electrical and mechanical parameters. Electrical parameters includevoltage and current of coil, mechanical parameters include displacement/bounce of contactand displacement/bounce of core.In this system,a controller with function of phaseselection switch was designed to close or break contactor in different phase,and theprecision of phase can reach1°.Single-chip was used as control center for the contoller.Power MOSFET was chosen to be switch actuators.RS-485technology was used in thetest system for data communication.Interactive interface based on LabVIEW wasdesigned,and test results could displayed on PC in time.After actual test,ideal test resultswas achieved by the test system,and the data was preliminary analysised.
