The train transport industry in urban rail transit has developed rapidly with the development of the modernization.Wheel set is a very important part of the running train operation.The traditional detection method of wheel set can't meet the requirements of large-scale,high efficiency and high precision while detecting abrasion situation of wheel set.Under the circumstances,the paper developed the on-line dynamic testing system that can test the size of wheel set automatically that based on the detailed analysis of the previous work of the predecessors and contact the situation of the operation of the subway.Firstly,the paper introduced the relevant basic knowledge of the train wheel set and the laser displacement sensor.It introduced the mechanical structure,characteristics of the wheel set and main dimension parameter,and described the main type and principles of laser displacement sensors and introduced the measuring principle of wheel tread and wheel diameter in great detail.Secondly,the paper designed the overall on-line dynamic detection system of wheel set and the hardware structure of the system,established the system framework and functional requirement in detail and the model of the main sensor in the system,and accomplished system hardware.Then,the paper designed system software while considering the system framework and functional requirement and designed specific software implementation of each functional module,including data acquisition software,data processing software and client access software.Finally,the functions of the system were tested by field experiment.Two methods were used to verify the accuracy and efficiency of the system by using the standard wheel set test and the on-line running train wheel set test.
