Astudy On The Waterfront Landscape Design Of Small Cities In The Central Plain

With the development of society and enhancement of national economy, thewaterfront landscape building has taken an increasing large proportion in urban greenspace construction, and even become a measure of contemporary urban living standardsand lifestyle. Although the development of waterfront landscape is fairly late in China,but there have been a great number of waterfront space construction projects, and it stillmaintains a sound development momentum. Meanwhile, contradictions and weaknessalso exist objectively. The overall landscape image has a lot of shortcomings and has nofeatures due to the copy production mode, lack of geographical culture, and the blindand ephemeral development. The everywhere identical waterfront space phenomenon isworthy of careful consideration.Taking the waterfront landscape of small cities in the Central Plain as base pointand Luohe Shali River Scenic Area as an example, combining with the waterfrontlandscape design of neighboring small cities in the Central Plain, the paper tries tosummarize the geographical characteristics of small cities in the Central Plain and thewaterfront landscape design ideas and methods, and explores some missing points thatexist objectively in the existing waterfront landscape design.Based on the current design of Luohe Sha Li River Scenic Area, the paper studiesthe handling methods of the main parts of waterfront landscape, as well as theapplication and expression of water loving design, eco-design and historical and culturalheritage in the landscape. While solving the fundamental needs for the prevention and control of waterfront pollution, it achieves ecological, aesthetic and people-orientedwin-win situation, and puts forwards the social and economic benefits that waterfrontlandscape can bring to the overall development of small cities. Then the paper analyzesthe water status of Xuchang City and Kaifeng City, tries to explore the integration modeof Central Plains culture in the three water models:“River, Canal and Lake”, andpresents the development prospects of the waterfront landscape of central plains. Finally,the paper proposes some subjective construction comments, finds out the designmethods and ideas that are in line with the development orientation of small cities in theCentral Plain, highlight the history and culture of the Central Plain and meet the actualconditions of small cities in the Central Plain, and provides certain reference for theplanning and management and featured design of rivers of small cities in the CentralPlain.
