In recent years, with comprehensive influence of factors,such as the hot weathercontinuing,traffic growing, serious overload, channelized traffic,the asphalt pavementrutting disease becomes increasingly severe,which seriously affected traffic safety andthe road service life.For a long time,researchers at home and abroad did a lot ofresearches on rutting from the asepects of pure theory and experiment to analyse thecause and laws of rutting, but the result is not ideal. At present, we commonly usedstandard rutting test to estimate rut, but which had large difference with the actualsituation.Based on this,improvement has made in the existing rutting test instrument inthis paper,which made it better simulate the actual pavement.In this paper the dynamic modulus test has carried on firstly,the test results of thedynamic modulus of asphalt mixture were obtained under multiple temperature andmultiple frequency, and then transformed test data to the parameters of the viscoelasticproperties of asphalt mixture.The deficiency of standard rutting test was analysed, andimprovement has made in it.We analysed the laws of rutting of asphalt mixture throughdifferent temperature gradient,different wheel pressure and different interlayercombination state of the thickness rut test,and used the finite element software tosimulate the results of rutting test,finite element numerical simulation is reasonable andeffective through comparing test with simulation,which can be used instead of part ofthe simulation test.Simulation analysis was carried out on the full thickness rut test, it concluded thechange rule of the shear stress and compressive stress of asphalt mixture under differenttemperature gradient, different interlayer combination state, different wheel pressure and different thickness.and used the stress change rule to make further explanation tothe cause of rut.We made simulation and calculation to semi rigid pavement and flexiblepavement, the full thickness rutting test could better forecast the rut of semi rigid baseasphalt pavement, change the modulus of mixture and interlayer state to analyse rut,putforward rut preventive measures.
