Research On "Rational Period" Of Public Construction

While the scale of public construction continues to increase, with a tightinvestment environment, it has put higher requirements forward to public constructionmanagement. The current situation of public construction period is not quite scientific,rational period is difficult to spread due to lack of standard. Therefore, in order toimprove investment efficiency, research on the method how to determine a rationalperiod is important.On the basis of research on the theory of rational period and related theories，thispaper analyze the impact of an unreasonable period on cost and quality, it also studiedhow to determine a rational period. Under the compare between public constructionand general construction project, we selected16representative factors, applied thestructured systems analysis approach-Interpretative Structural Modeling Method toanalysis factors of rational period, and carried out a practical improve on the traditionalmodel to make it more realistic; got and analyze hierarchy group and logical structurethrough modeling, distinguish fundamental factor, indirect factors, the direct factors,and propose appropriate initiatives. On the basis of factors analysis, use Monte Carlomethod to determine rational period, design a Monte Carlo experiment combine withMicrosoft Office software. Finally, use Xi’an North Railway Station project as anexample, test and verify the feasibility of method through model and demonstration.
