| With the rapid development of national economy, the number of automobile hasincreased significantly and the traffic congestion has become more and more serious.It is unrealistic to solve the problem of heavy traffic through extend the roadinfrastructure and implement road demand management. However, based on theadvanced traffic signal control technology and the signal timing, it is effective toimprove the capacity of intersections. The on-line networking communications trafficsignal control system can enlarge the capacity of intersections, reduce the averagedelay of vehicles and improve the speed of vehicles, etc.Currently, the SCOOT (U.K), SCATS (Australia), Japan’s new traffic controlsystem are well known in the world, whereas China is still in its infancy. Therefore, itis significant for us to research on our own traffic signal control system, which candevelop the sustainable economic.We aim to design the scope of the small-scale road traffic signal control systemwithin a certain area. Firstly, the system can collect the real-time traffic informationof each intersection and the adaptive control parameters which is uploaded by thecontroller of the intersection automatically. Secondly, the real-time signal controlscheme of each intersection can be available through the implementation coordinationcontrol algorithm. Finally, the purpose of the traffic signal coordination control in acertain area can be reached by downloading to each signal controller of theintersection. Thus, the signal control principle, single-intersection signal control andarterial coordination control, the various control parameters and algorithm required inthe signal control, and the on-line concentrated coordinated control signal controlsystem are mostly analyzed and researched in the article.Based on the set of the intelligent signal controller in each intersection, the signaloptimization algorithm of an area signal control is designed. One of communicationfunction of the intelligent signal controller is the upload of signal real-time runningcondition per second and control execution intelligence before the end of each cycle.The intelligence contains real-time traffic information of intersections and cycle timeof local optimization calculation. There comes a best cycle according to the uploadcycle information of each intersection. What’s more, based on the main phase arithmetic, the phase characteristic, connection line characteristics, the traffic capacityof intelligent signal controller of uploading the connection and optimized calculationof trunk phase difference, the coordinated control of main line intersection and thetransportation capacity has been improved.Visual C++6.0is the software programming used in the article. And thecommunication between the regional computer and the intersection of controller isbuilt on the way of serial ports. This design software can real-time monitor theoperating condition of send-receive communication. It takes measures and recordsabnormal data when extraordinary happens. Furthermore, the data classification,implement of signal control algorithm according to the effective and the controlscheme of each intersection can be reached by the designed software. Consequently,the goal of the system design can be realized. |
