The Fukushima nuclear accident of Japan has been an alarm to the globaldevelopment of the nuclear power industry, the global nuclear power developmenthas slowed down. The rapid development of China’s nuclear power industry hasbeen sloweded too. But China’s nuclear power development is expected a brightfuture in a long term. First, with China’s industrialization and urbanization processprogresses, social electrification is continuously improving; the level of China’stotal electricity demand in a certain period of time is still growing. Second, for theobjective of reducing China’s non-fossil energy in2020to15%and achieving40%to45%reduction in CO〗 emissions intensity per unit of GDP., the development ofnuclear power is the only way. In terms of the site safety, China’s geologicalconditions of nuclear power plant are better than Japan, France, Germany, Italy, etc.To improve the reliability of the operation of nuclear power plants andprevent nuclear accident, a comprehensive design for the electrical power supplysystem with defense in depth and multiple redundant functions is very important.This paper firstly introduces the electrical single line diagram design principles,functions and design features, and then does the analysis for nuclear power projectsin XUDAPU’S electrical single line diagram. The ETAP sotfware,according to theIEC60909standard, has been used for XUDAPU’S electrical single line systemshort-circuit calculation. After a short circuit calculation, to verify the feasibility ofthe design of the single line diagram.Secondly, it analyzes the technical requirements and the need for the setoutside the factory backup power of nuclear power plant, it combines with thecharacteristics of XUDAPU project, update, modify the form of220kV backuppower wiring. And it determines the principle from single bus connection to thedouble bus with single segmented, to improve the reliability of backup poweroutside the plant,and leave expansion position for the future.Finally, the article analyzes the configuration requirements of the nuclear’power plant auxiliary power systems electrical load conditions and plant power,according to the structure of the security level process equipment and security levelI&C system, auxiliary power system voltage wiring design principle. Theshort-circuit current and voltage adjustment calculation has been done, which isused to determine the voltage level of the new system and the auxiliary powersystem configuration.
