The randomness and uncontrollability of wind energy source will determine the characteristic of wave character and intermittency for the output of wind power units. Furthermore, the fans are mostly asynchronous generator. The running characteristic of asynchronous generator is essential different from the synchronous generator. Hence, wind power plant is much more different from thermal power plant with regard to the respect of unit layout, running method, system composition and system configuration etc. It can not to copy the design idea of thermal power plant completely.This context is combined with the wind sources and synchronous conditions of domestic Fuqing district to complete the important segment in the electric design works for the first stage of large-scale wind power plant and it will study for every segment as much as possible. The main work will include:selection for the types of wind generator units, single line diagram design of wind power plant, short-circuit current calculation of wind power plant, selection for the types and make the protection design of electrical equipment for the booster station of wind power plant and reactive-load compensation equipment design of wind power plant.This context is analysis and simplified the equivalent circuit model so that it will calculate short-circuit current value by simplify the circuit. It will test and verify this calculation results through short-circuit current which is provided by design company. Afterwards it will conclude the calculation method for the short-circuit current through the practical, feasible and simple way in the project design. This context is also analysis and compared the advantages and disadvantages for the reactive-load compensation method of different type of wind power plant so that it will provide the advanced and economic reactive-load compensation design scheme presently.This context is expected to analysis the trend of international wind power technological development and domestic wind power equipment manufacturing conditions, combines with the design works of Fuqing Niutouwei Wind Power Project and put forward some suggestion for the domestic electrical single line diagram design and selection for the types of equipment etc.Now it have already got improved continuously in the stage of domestic electrical design standardization work of wind power project and it also hoped that this context can provide a typical design example for the standardization work.
