The environment of high-voltage transmission lines is harsh, with many uncontrollablefactors, only manual inspection can not fully identify the risks, can not ensure the reliability.In some areas, such as mountains, rivers, etc., inspection work is difficult, high cost and lowefficiency. The use of advanced sensor technology to monitor the operational status ofhigh-voltage transmission lines and environmental conditions. Wireless network technologyand optical fiber communication technology for communications infrastructure, and computertechnology will process sensor information. Real-time online monitoring of high-voltagetransmission lines operating status and the environment can be achieved. With themaintenance model and fault prediction model, we can set up the high-voltage transmissionlines state maintenance and fault warning system. With the real-time monitor, we can makethe high-voltage transmission lines running safe, improve the safe levels of power grid.By analyzing the high-voltage transmission network line monitoring features, this paperproposed the system hardware,network andsystem design. With the temperature, humidity,wind speed, wind direction, rainfall, sunshine, tension, angle, vibration, radar and imagevideo consists of11types of sensing technology of various sensor combinations work,achieve the function like micro meteorological monitoring, icing alarming monitoring, image/video monitoring, tower inclination monitoring, aeolian vibration monitoring and conductorsag monitoring ofhigh-voltage transmission lines.With the comparative analysis of differentnetwork technology,this paper proposed the ways to build self-networking functions withfault-tolerant network communications platform, by the use of optical fiber, ZigBee and WIFItechnology. The design reduced costs and improves reliability. With programming theory, thispaper proposed the Object-oriented and Multi-layer framework design for the Real-timeonline monitor system.The system is the modular designand the structure is divided into thedata persistence layer, business logic layer, service layer and presentation layer, with modulardesign, which ensured scalability, stability and maintainability of the system.With the UMLmodeling, the paper analysised of transmission line maintenance work demand.Using use casediagram, entity class diagram, activity diagram and sequence diagram, the system functionmodule analysis. it fully meet the needs of high-voltage transmission network on-linemonitoring system, and improved the lean management level of transmission line operationand maintenance work.Finally, the paper introduced the Huizhou Power Supply Bureau110kV San Long linesonline monitoring pilot work for example, to show how to complete the theory, design and practice of systems development.
