Slope instability is one of the most common natural disasters which would lead to huge economic losses, sometimes even casualties. According to the statistics from Ministry of Land and Resources, slope instability accounted for 96.6% of the nationwide geological disasters in 2014. Since the slope of Mianyang ring highway and Miansan highway intersection slope excavation started, it has been deforming for such a long time. That caused cracks among the abutment block, abutment capping and bridge foundation. Part of the T beam ends squeezed the back wall, thus leading to shear deformation along the bridge of some supports.Horizontal displacement observation has been conducted by freely setting station method, borehole inclinometer has been used for monitoring the displacement deep inside. It comes out that this slope belongs to shallow creep landslide, the potential sliding surface may be roughly in 11m~12m depth under. Electronic total station has been applied for bridge deformation monitoring, it turns out that bridge deformation is among the design range. As to avoid security impact of long-last slope deformation on bridge, anti-slide piles used for the bridge have been reinforced. Displacement has been obviously reduced and controlled after reinforcement.
