Research On Exterior Space Characteristic Landscape Design Of Residential Quarters In Mountainous City

China is a mountainous country. Mountain city has complex landform andphysiognomy. More than50%of total county towns in our country are mountain typetowns. With the innovation of the housing system and the process of urbanizationspeeding up, housing is going through an unprecedented reform in China. Mountainouscity has to not only handle the large number of housing needs, but also cope with theversatile challenge, the complex natural geography environment of itself and theprofound social human environment. To extend beautiful landscape features tomountain cities, create multi-level environmental landscapes, reduce planarconstructions, this article focuses on characteristics of environmental space inresidential areas of mountain cities Taking Chongqing for the example, according toclassifying complex terrain elements of the mountainous region, analyzing on urbandevelopment patterns and interpreting social and cultural foundations of the city, articleconcludes the different characteristics from plain cities, points out some problems innowadays leap-forward construction of urban residential areas and proposescorresponding advices.This article is divided into six chapters to discuss the landscape characteristics ofexterior space in mountainous cities, as follows:Chapter one is about the origin and significance of the research. The purpose,significance, object and main contents are introduced. The basic methods of the researchand the framework of the paper are proposed in this chapter.Chapter two is about the research review on characteristic landscape for exteriorspace of residential areas in mountainous cities. The concept of residential area inmountainous city, the landscape theory of the area and the characteristic landscape aredefined. Chapter summarizes the general research on characteristic landscape forexterior space of residential areas in mountain cities at home and aboard, discusses theinfluence factors on the landscape and proposes the particularity of the landscape inChongqing.Chapter three is about the analysis on current exterior space landscape inresidential areas of Chongqing. This chapter researches on inference elements such asnatural environment, humanities tradition and social economy environment oncharacteristic exterior space landscape and discusses the existing problems between residential areas in Chongqing and other traditional settlements.Chapter four is about research into the characteristic landscape design for exteriorspace of residential areas in mountain cities. Discussion focuses on plan layout, pacestructure, spatial control and typical space. Design methods for traditional settlementsand the layouts of modern industrial cities are studied to propose the design methods forcharacteristic landscape of exterior space.Chapter five is about cases study. The research on relevant cases verifies the designmethods for characteristic landscape of exterior space in mountain residential areas.Chapter six is Epilogue. Summary, inadequacy and expectation of the research areproposed in the end.
