With the development of China’s urbanization process, water supply industry in citieshas a big development, with increasing water supply area and stronger water supplycapacity. However the energy consumption in the process of supplying is becoming muchhigher. With the energy-saving and cost-reducing, the optimal operation of water supplysystem is becoming a problem demanding prompt solution. Based the Internet of Things,the scheme of pump optimal schedule is designed in this paper. The feasible optimalscheduling is proposed through solving the pump optimal schedule model.This paper mainly study the problems in the following aspects:(1) during the actual process of operation management, the energy-cost can beestimated by the maximum water supply flow and pressure. The coefficient of watersupply energy variation () is adopted to reflect the character of water demand variationprocess. The calculation of, as the ratio of the average water supply energy and themaximal water supply energy, is studied.(2) the water demand pattern is adopted to describe the characteristics of differentusers. The test scheme of water demand pattern and the method of data processing(Clustering Analysis) is studied in this paper.(3) the dynamic model is used to monitor the operation state of water supply systemduring the pump schedule. The hydraulic analysis functions included in the EPANETTOOLKIT is invoked in the MATALB environment to run extend period simulation.(4) the pump scheduling by the Internet of Things is studied. The pump operationstate (open or closed) and the speed ratio of regulating frequency pumps as the decisionvariable, the minimum cost of water supply system operation as objective function and thehydraulic constraints of water supply network, pumps and pressure measurement nodes,constitute the optimal pump scheduling model. Through solving this model by GeneticAlgorithm, the scheduling scheme is proposed.The research has achieved the following results:(1) take the SZ New District as example, the coefficient of water supply energyvariation is calculated, providing reference for the optimal pump scheduling schemeevaluating.(2) analysis the SZ New District water demand data by hierarchical clustering. Seventypical water demand patterns is proposed. (3) invoke the hydraulic functions of EPANET TOOLKIT in the MATLABenvironment to run a extended period simulation of SZ New District. The result of modeltest indicates the water supply system dynamic model of SZ New District with enoughprecision for optimal pump scheduling analysis.(4) the Internet of Things scheme of the civil water supply system optimal pumpscheduling is designed in this paper.(5) the optimal pump scheduling model of SZ New District is established and thispaper proposes the optimal pump scheduling scheme in2013.11.28of the SZ New Districtwater supply system.
