Power transformer is the core equipment of the power system,its operation conditionrelate to the security and reliability of electricity supplying to millions of households.In recent years, with the improvement of the safety awareness of people and advancesin technology, more and more people began to focus on the operation state of thetransformer.Meanwhile,transformer monitoring technology has been rapidlydevelopment,it has diversification monitoring methods, advanced means ofmonitoring features.Vibration monitoring method as a new monitoring methods, hasbroad prospects for development. Vibration sensor mounted on the surface of thetransformer, singal is sent to processing and analysis part after been collected.Compared to other monitoring methods, safety of vibration method makes it standout in a transformer monitoring field,draws more and more attention.This paper analyzes the operation principle of the transformer, the transformervibration mechanism were described from the perspective of core and windings. Workout that only core transformer can cause vibration but the transformer windingcontuibute nothing under no-load conditions. While under load, it is winding andcore both contribute to transformer vibration.The article briefly valuated the advantages and disadvantages of several signalprocessing methods for the particularity in the transformer signal. Worked out thatanalysis the vibration signal only in time domain or frequency domain is not enough,and we can characterize the transformer vibration signal with wavelet transform in thetime domain and frequency domain.Developed a set of transformer vibration monitoring system.Selecting properhardware structures based on the actual condition of transformer.Using LabVIEWprogramming monitoring system,which can achieve a real-time acquisition ofvibration signals, time-frequency domain analysis and early warning capabilities.Monitoring and analysis the vibration singal under no-load and load conditionswith the monitoring system,analyzing their intrinsically difference and connection.Obtained vibration band signal with concentrated energy.
