Exploration Into The Space Adaptability Design Of The Living Environment In Urban Nursing Home

With the constant increase in the population of aging people, how to do well in aged care service has already become a significant part of social harmony in China. The country tries to solve’the sense of security’ problem by reforming the nursing institution for the aged. Consequently, the development of nursing home turns to be the focus of the country and society. With the development of urbanization, the increase in urban population also4means the increasing proportion of the aged. According to the development trend of China’s nursing mode, the social provision for the aged is widely accepted by people.According to the data collection and on-spot investigation, as well as the comparison of facilities in domestic and foreign nursing home, China starts late in the nursing home, with unsound facilities and services, and there is a gap in the actual number of beds and the actual demands. Besides, the distribution is not rational and the form is simple. Only by solving the actual demands of the aged in nursing home, can it alleviate the family burden of raising the aged, improve the life quality of the aged and satisfy the diversified demands of the aged. Only in this way, can it attract more aged people to select the social provision for the aged, promote the healthy development of the social provision for the aged, and improve the life quality eventually. Therefore, it is extremely significant to create a rational, comfortable, economic and applicable living space for the aged.In China, it is still imperfect in the study on nursing home design, and especially few are about the adaptability to the living space. Furthermore, studies only focus on the barrier-free design, and little attention is paid to the comfort and space adaptability. The comfort level is reflected in the application of humanized concept in the daily life of the aged, and it tries to reach a high-standard state in the facility and space design with theoretical subjects as the foundation. Adaptability is mainly reflected in the space; namely, under the same design condition, it can change the spatial distribution much more effectively and reach the goal of rational and diversified utilization. With the acceleration of aging population, people set more demands on the social provision for the aged, especially the nursing home. At present, there are many problems in the design of living space for nursing home, such as old architectures, simple facilities, narrow bedrooms improper spatial distribution, etc. all these problems restrict the development of nursing home greatly. In this paper, demands of the aged are learnt through questionnaire survey by taking the nursing home in northern China as the research target. With the basic theories of architecture, environment, human engineering, environmental psychology, etc. as the support, cases of domestic and foreign architectures are analyzed, and measures of space adaptability design are proposed. The nursing architectures in Beijing, Shanghai and Taiyuan are introduced, for completely dissecting the current development status of endowment environment, in this paper, the current situation of endowment environment in Taiyuan of Shanxi is analyzed specifically. Through questionnaires survey, graphic recording method, the utilization and demand on the functional space of the aged are learnt, and existing problems in the living environment are concluded. Finally, measures for the adaptability design of living environment of urban nursing home are concluded, which will provide referential proposals for the construction of endowment facilities in cities.
