Upon the research about ball-type automatic balancer, the researchers generally consider the geometric center of the ball’s raceway is ideal, that is non-eccentric, which means the geometric center coincides with the rotor’s axis. In practical settings with error in processing and assembling, however, raceway’s eccentricity is inevitable. Therefore, the theoretical and experimental study on the eccentric raceway ball-type automatic balancer is meaningful.Based on the background mentioned above, after reviewing many reference papers, this paper constructs the mathematical model for the track’s eccentricity ball-type automatic balancer and analyzes the steady state response and conducts the stability calculation for the system This paper also practices the numerical simulation to analyze the influence of the track’s eccentricity to dynamic characteristics of ball-type automatic balancer. This paper hereby incorporates these achievements:(1) With using both inertial and non-inertial coordinates to do the system’s motion analysis and D’Alembert’s principle to build up the model. Using Harmonic Balance Method to calculate the system’s steady state response, Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion is also conducted to do the stability calculation.(2) Through the numerical simulation to the system’s mathematical model and some relevant experiments on the experimental platform, this paper analyzes the influence of the track’s eccentricity to the dynamic characteristics of ball-type automatic balancer. The track’s eccentricity’s role to the steady-state amplitude of the single ball and the double balls’ system and the rolling ball’s final position’s pattern are observed under the over-critical rotating speed.(3) Through the experimentation have made a confirmation of the numerical simulation, and proved the correctness of the mathematical model for the track’s eccentricity ball-type automatic balancer.
