Idle speed control of automobile engine is the mainly kind of the engineelectronic control method. Optimize the idle speed control method is needed in orderto improve the cars’fuel efficiency and people’s comfort. Meanwhile reduce exhaustpollution.Firstly, this paper simply described the relative research on idle speed control ofautomobile engine. A widely used modeling method, average value method, ismentioned in the paper. And use the Simulink toolbox of Matlab, a kind of widelyused software, to build the idling condition control model.Secondly, correlative strategy about rotational speed control under the enginecontrol system on the idling condition are analyzed in this paper. The mainly purposeof rotational speed control on idling condition is improving engine’s performance.That is to say, according to the structural features and working condition of the enginesystem, use the various implementing agencies and a control method based on controltheory to improve rotational speed control efficiency. Also briefly stated linear matrixinequalities.Thirdly, H-infinity controller is designed for linearized engine idle speed modelconsidering uncertainly parameters and the engine torque output lagging and externaldisturbance. Simulation experiment considered the sudden disturbance torque andsuddenly removes interference torque under the condition of the working performanceof the system. The simulation results show that the H-infinity controller caneffectively suppress the interference effects on system performance, improve therobustness of the system.Then, a state feedback control method based on state observation is proposed foruncertainly parameters. This method provided state estimation of the Luenbergermodel, and according to the Lyapunov functional theory, asymptotically stablesufficient condition of closed loop system robustness is satisfied, and the statefeedback controller parameters can be solved by using linear matrix inequality andsingular value decomposition methods.The results performed in the form of LMI soas to use LMI tool box in Matlab software. The simulation results show that thissystem have a better robustness and can be easily realized.Finally, summarized this paper and proposed the follow-up research.
