Because of the unique advantages of electric vehicles in improving energy security,reducing carbon emissions, and solving the environmental pollutions, governmentsvigorously promote the development of electric vehicles industry. The electric vehiclecharging equipment as the high power electronic device connected to the electric vehiclesand the power grids, is an important part of the electric vehicles industrialization.The work of this paper is subproject of “the research of the electric car charginginfrastructure measurement technology and the standard” which is the “National HighTechnology Research and Development Program of China”(863program).The article does the research work from various angles. Firstly of all, the articlepresents the theoretical analysis of the energy consumption of the electric vehiclecharging equipment from the component level, equipment level, system level; then thearticle uses the MATLAB/SIMULINK to build simulation model of AC/DC electricvehicle charging stations based on theoretical analysis, and does the analysis according tothe charging machine type and configuration of structural, compare the energyconsumption of two kinds of charging system. The article has done the simulationanalysis of energy efficiency of electric vehicle charging device under different loadcondition. According to the simulation results, the article puts forward the correspondingand specific measures to reduce energy consumption of the electric car chargingequipment.Finally, according to relevant national testing standards and test data, the article hasaccomplished the related introduction and research of the test method of energyefficiency on the electric vehicle charging equipment.
