The relief valve is one of the most common but critical safety devices in pressurevessel and pipeline, which is widely used in the chemical industry, power plants, oil, etc.Domestic and foreign scholar research the safety valve for a long time, people realize thata single experimental study flawed, scholars use numerical simulation method to reducenumber of tests and explore the mechanism of flow.On the basis of a large number of literature and exploring working principle of therelief valve system, the following several aspects has been done.(1)Firstly, collecting research data, parse the research status, existing problemsand correction method of relief valve, recognize the market prospect.(2)Draw the power bond graph; next, research for dynamic simulation of reliefvalve is proceeded by Matlab/Simulink. And at the same time, the rationality of itsperformance is confirmed. Finally, based on the analysis results, explore the influence ofstructure parameters on the working performance and profitable improvement. The reliefvalve spring is optimized by constrained positive deterministic formula geometricprogramming dual method. The oscillation of disc and the system overshoot could bereduced and the sensitivity could increase by changing the spring stiffness moderately;while setting pressure increased properly, dice displacement and the valve port wouldturn smaller, then the boosting time of relief valve system shorten and the overshootdecrease.(3)According to the research and analysis of the dynamic characteristics of reliefvalve, the structural parameters could be further optimized. Meanwhile valuableexperience is provided to research and use the relief valve, which possess importantimplications of updating.
