In the past20years, with the rapid development of economic and theconsiderable progress of technology, as well as the significant increase inpopulation, shaped column frame residential building has gradually become themain trend of urban planning and construction in China. This structure makes noobvious edges or prominent column appear in the buildings, satisfies spatial requirements ofcorners and intersection of the wall, and thus extends effective areas of the room and morefurniture can be arranged. However, due to the design, construction, material and otherreasons, a series of disease appear in the housing structure, such as insufficientcomponent strength, concrete quality problems, water seepage caused by wallcracking, which seriously affected the normal work and life of people. In addition,in the long cycle of residential buildings, housing renovation or alteration may beperformed due to a higher demand for the living environment or change the uses ofhousing. In either case, in order to ensure the safe use of the structure, repair orreinforcement is necessary.China has experienced20years of rapid development of large-scale real estate.However, due to the rapid and high return on capital of real estate industry, manydevelopers are too quick buck in the project development, many unfinishedbuildings appeared inevitably. Strengthen the research on appraisal and evaluationof the reliability of unfinished buildings has important social significance andenormous economic benefits to its subsequent transformation and reuse.This residential building is reborn from an abandoned building, which wasplaced at least10years ago. Due to the long-unfinished state and the environmentalerosion, component aging, steel corrosion and other damage appears in housingstructure, which cause structural function reduced gradually. It is necessary toexamine the durability and the security of concrete subject before reinforce themain structure.The main issues and results are as follows: 1、This thesis elaborates the reason and the significance of examination andappraisal, introduces the concept of reliability appraisal, content and commonmethods.2、 This thesis summarizes the characteristics and applicability of somecommon reinforcement methods. Comparative analyses of applicability andinterchangeability of the strengthening method with CFRP (Carbon FiberReinforcing Plastic) and with bonded steel plate have been made, which meetsthe requirements of residential building structural reinforcement. Such as smalldecrease in the use of space, not affect the normal use, short duration and so on.3、Based on the current technical specifications, through spot investigationexamination and analysis, structure detection and reliability appraisal were carriedon the strength of materials, geometry, degree of aging, development of cracks ofthe structure of the abandoned building. With this first-hand data, seismicqualification, security identification and classification could be carried on. With thedetection and identification findings, the best reinforcement scheme could beobtained after comparison, practical guidance could be pointed out for similar cases,and the research trends in the future are has been forecasted.
